Last Christmas, ViscoTec once again donated to a regional institution, this time supporting the Anna Hospizverein im Landkreis Mühldorf e.V. with €2,500.

The Hospizverein takes on numerous tasks: Guidance on planning ahead, bereavement counselling and the training of nursing staff, e.g., for palliative care. One special project is the hospice island in Waldkraiburg. The donation from ViscoTec is put towards this project. In other words, it is used to pay for “time”: For the time the caregivers offer.

Thomas Kitzeder is the Managing Director of the Anna Hospizverein. At the handover of donation in Töging he says: “We provide care in difficult times of life – that is our motto. We care for people and want to ensure they live a life worth living until the end. Many of the services offered by the association, such as bereavement counselling, are not financed on a regular basis. This is why we rely on donations. Particularly now during the Corona period, our patients are becoming more and more lonely. The need for support and time is great – also for relatives.”
The Anna Hospizverein and SAPV (Spezialisierte Ambulante Palliativversorgung) currently employ 59 people in various areas – doctors, nurses, social workers, and administrators. This team cares for patients and their relatives. And this makes it possible for many people to spend their last days in their familiar surroundings. The full-time staff are additionally supported by many volunteers, without whom this comprehensive care would not be possible.

If you are also interested in helping, there are other ways besides donating. You can volunteer at any time. There is, for example, the possibility of training to become a hospice companion. Or, with an annual contribution, you can become a member of the association. 2,500 members from the district of Mühldorf have already helped to finance the nursing staff.
